Services and Philosophy of Care.

Day care for older people.

Woodlands Lodge Care Home offers local members of the community an opportunity to take advantage of day-care services, or become involved in a range of organised social activities.

We believe independence is a vital part of an older person's dignity, sometimes, as life goes on, it's possible to feel a little isolated in your own home. Day care continues to support the person in the community for as long as is needed.

By attending Woodlands Lodge you are very likely to make new and improve or maintain life skills without feeling the need to give up independence. Naturally, this is a benefit to anyone finding life a little difficult at home on their own, but it can also be a welcome break for carers who need to know their loved ones are cared for professionally - once a day, or once a week, depending on individual needs.

Woodlands Lodge Care Home Quality of Life

Aims and Objectives

Woodlands Lodge Care Home prides itself in offering a highly professional, holistic approach to a quality long term and short term care which is delivered in a personal, caring and approachable manner with the engagement of the service user.

We aim to provide personalised care and attention tailored to the individual needs of all of our patients with;

  • PRIVACY: The right of Service Users to be left alone and undisturbed whenever they wish.
  • DIGNITY: The understanding of Service Users needs and treating them with RESPECT.
  • INDEPENDENCE: Allowing Service Users to take calculated risks, to make their own decisions and think and act for themselves.
  • CHOICE: Giving Service Users the opportunity to select for themselves from a range of alternative options.
  • RIGHTS: Keeping all basic human rights and civil rights available to the Service Users.
  • FULFILMENT: Enabling the Service Users to realise their own aims and helping them to achieve these goals in all aspects of daily living.

Philosophy of Care.

Woodlands lodge Care Home aims to provide its Service Users with personalised care, a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance.

Staff strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all Service Users within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in so doing are sensitive to the Service Users ever changing needs. Such needs may be therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social. Service Users are encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised Care Plans in which the involvement of family and friends may be appropriate, is encouraged and is greatly valued.

This is achieved through programmes of activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self-esteem, and social interaction with other Service Users and with recognition of the following core values of care, which are fundamental to the philosophy of our Home;

PRIVACY ~ DIGNITY ~ RIGHTS ~ INDEPENDENCE ~ CHOICE ~ FULFILMENT

Respite care home.

Respite Care is an essential part of caring for loved ones in the community. Whether you are a full-time professional carer, you care for a relative on an informal basis, or are in need of permanent care yourself, taking a break from your usual routine can be the solution that works for you.

As a carer you want to relax, knowing your relative, friend or client is in a safe, welcoming environment with personalised care and support tailored to their needs. A short stay at Woodlands Lodge gives people the opportunity to experience a short break among friendly, welcoming staff and it's also a chance to meet with other people we support as well.
